Cal Extends Partnership with CLC Licensing Through 2017
December 10, 2014
CLC Licensing, an affiliate of IMG, today announced the extension of its partnership with University of California (Cal) to continue managing the school’s trademark licensing program through 2017.
Through its relationship with CLC Licensing, the university has participated in select co-branded partnerships that include Victoria’s Secret PINK, Dockers, and the recently launched Star Wars themed college collection. Cal is part of Collegiate Licensing Company’s National Marketing Fund which has helped strategically position the university’s trademark licensing program and the Cal brand to optimize growth opportunities in the market. Cal’s international licensing interests are represented by CLC Licensing International. Since the inception of the Cal/Collegiate Licensing Company partnership in 2007 there is a more diverse and high quality abundance of Cal merchandise in the market today than at any time in the licensing program’s history.
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with CLC,” said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Mike Williams. “Through the years, CLC has been a great partner of ours and a good steward of our brand. At retail, CLC has also been integral in helping to keep our brand in a strong position, both domestically and internationally.”
“We are excited to continue our successful relationship with Cal,” said Cory Moss, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, CLC. “Everyone at CLC is enthusiastically committed to delivering the tools and resources that will help Cal to continue to elevate its brand by positioning and managing its merchandise presence through CLC’s national marketing initiatives, expanded retail relationships, and partnerships with best-in-class licensees.”
