Collegiate Licensing Company Selected by University of Texas at Austin for Licensing Agreement

Collegiate Licensing Company has been named the University of Texas at Austin’s collegiate licensing representative. To note, the partnership is pending final approval by the University’s Board of Regents.

Collegiate Licenisng Company will provide to the Texas licensing program an industry leading strategy for brand management, ground breaking consumer marketing strategies as well as best in class sales and market data. With this in hand, Texas is able to deep dive into its collegiate licensing program to help with future growth and product innovation.

"Our goal is to reinforce the Texas brand as one of the strongest across all sports, not just college, while at the same time providing our fans and supporters with unique brand experiences," said Drew Martin, Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. "Our licensed merchandise program is an extension of that goal, and this agreement with CLC will give us superior tools and resources to develop new brand opportunities."

Currently, Texas has about 200 manufactures and Collegiate Licensing Company will assist in managing the merchandise that it is produced, ensuring the Longhorn brand and other school logos are used. In addition, the agreement calls for Collegiate Licensing Company to partner with Texas to locate new retail opportunities, meeting the requirements of Longhorn fans, while also putting into place strategies to maximize the Texas brand value.

"Drew and his team have a great vision for connecting fans across the globe to the Texas brand, and we are excited to work the University to add our expertise and resources to their vision."

The agreement between Texas and Collegiate Licensing Company is set to deliver marketing, licensing and brand enforcement program to Texas using a centered and all encompassing approach.

Upon Board approval, the agreement with Collegiate Licensing Company will be effective immediately and is set to go through year 2032.
